Port Townsend Modern Green Residence by Lawrence Architecture
By matalangit On November 25th, 2009Lawrence Architecture designed this modern green residence the a 10 acre heavily-wooded site on the Olympic Peninsula near Port Townsend, Washington, for a modern green home for a retired couple in their mid 60s who were moving ashore after 30 years as live-aboards on a sailboat. Originally containing a grove of deciduous trees, the building site is a clearing within a forest of fir and cedars. A new green home for a clearing in the woods composed of four sections: a master bedroom suite, an office, the living spaces (main cabin), and a guest suite. The general contractor was Tollefson Builders, Inc. Completed spring 2008. The detached accessory separate building with 2-car garage, work shop, and an accessory dwelling unit.
